Justice League: Avenger Attempt 01

Justice league is an attempt of DC universe to create an equivalent Avengers team. In Avengers however, the leader is clear, Iron Man, contrastingly the League is yet to find a leader. Batman after the Nolan trilogy is more human, it takes a huge effort from the villains to knock Iron Man down, Batman falls down just too much of the time.

Justice League:Mortal

Digressing here, a bit of Trivia, Avengers would have been the second giant tentpole superhero movie, and Justice League would have been first. George Miller (director: Mad Max: fury road) had a 2009 movie, preceding the 2012 Avengers, in the works. However, the project called Justice League:Mortal got shelved!, and MCU leapfrogged them. Irony abounds here, as now it seems, Justice league is trying to emulate Avengers. Bit like, Kodak had technology for digital cameras first (1975), but keep it on shelf, reducing them to to a minor player in today’s digital camera industry.
Superman’s death had left me wondering about the future of the franchise, because Superman was the core, the fun, Batman is dark, too much thinking for a superhero movie!. So Unless, its a Nolan film,having sublime messages with a deep plot, Batman is too dull a character for pure good guy versus bad guy movie. Hence Superman’s absence always weakens the movie. How did the creators get around this? Wallah!, bring back the Superman from death!.
Justice league thus has all the ingredients for a masala superhero movie. Flash, the one character with bumbling energy, comic moments, and slapstick. Then a new character with a novel power, not sure what is the use of the power in this movie, maybe for future series, enter Aquaman. A familiar blockbuster character, the representative female attendee, enroll Wonder Woman. A reluctant member, who needs lots of convincing, but we all know, eventually will join the team, Cyborg. A leader, more of a recruiter for the pack, Batman. To cap it, a surprise superhero when the plot gets tough, the trump card, aka Superman.
Even though all the ingredients are there, Justice league does not manage to become what it was supposed to be. The movie looks like a prequel to something, does not give the end product feel. The weakness probably comes from the Wolf, the anti hero, Avengers has a detailed plan for the anti hero, Wolf has a simple plan, collect three boxes and done!. Well not done, as the inseparable boxes apparently can be separated !!

The only good thing about the movie is, Superman is back ! So wait for the next movie
